HOW TO ACCESS YOUR GMAIL EMAIL ACCOUNT
Google "email" is pretty much the standard that is taught in my computer classes at the Mid Valley Regional Library and most others as well....of course there are other email service providers such as Yahoo, AOL, etc. and if you have any particular questions about those providers I can offer some assistance; just complete the contact form and send me an email....I will try to get back to you as soon as I can and try to answer your questions!
Now "onward" on how to access your Gmail account......
1 - If you have Google Chrome installed on your computer double click the "Chrome" icon to open the search engine.
2 - Click on the "gmail" in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
3 - You will then be routed to the Gmail log on screen.
4 - You should see your name in the "choose an account" dialog box; click on your name.
5 - It will display "Hi and your name" with your email address listed below that and then your password box should contain your saved password; it will indicate little black dots which means you have saved your email address and password on your computer for easy access.
6 - Click the blue NEXT and your email will open!
Hopefully this of you who attended my classes will know how to proceed with utilizing gmail such as inbox, sent, etc.
The one thing that everyone should remember is to ALWAYS SIGN OUT OF YOUR GMAIL ACCOUNT WHEN YOU ARE FINISHED; you want to be sure to sever the connection between your computer and Google's servers. To sign out do the following:
1 - To the upper right you will see a large circle which usually contains the first letter in your name; mine would be D.
2 - Click on the letter and you will see at the bottom right of the dialog box that opens and says SIGN OUT and click the box.
3 - Once you sign out it will bring you back to the "Google Choose An Account" screen and to the right of your email you will see "signed out"; that means you have properly logged out of your account and severed the connection to the Google server.
FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DO NOT HAVE GOOGLE CHROME INSTALLED
1 - You can use any browser which would be Bing, Edge, Internet Explorer, etc.; double click whichever browser you have to open that search engine.
2 - In the "search box" type in "google.com" and then the "enter key" on your keyboard to route to Google.
3 - Proceed as in the instructions above to log on to your account and the procedures are the same!
